Post Flood

Finally a chance to write a little bit when we're not fighting back sleep or sketchy, slow computer labs. We spent one more day in Kuala Lumpur, more than enough time in such a big city for us. We hit the proper tourist center of the city and went up in the Petronas Towers for a birds-eye view of the city, 170m or so up in the tallest set of double towers in the world, complete with an 8minute glorification of the oil company who built them. Then we headed to an amazing market and just got lost in rows and rows of fruits, veggies, and whole animals (think splayed chicken legs and bulging fish eyes). Eat your heart out Anthony Bourdain. We ended up with some unknown curry food for lunch that was excellent.
Yesterday morning we made a cross country trek to Kuantan on the east coast. Here we're having our "proper honeymoon" aka, not having to straddle a toilet in order to take a shower. We're staying at a nice resort on the beach (thanks Mom!) and plan on having a very relaxing week. Might be another week (and on to a new country) before you hear from us again. Jumpa lagi!

Oh, by the way! The other day Mike and I were talking about something we had when you all came over for dinner. Mike said something to the effect of "You remember when the Wanders came over..." It made me smile. You two aren't just Miah and Leslie anymore, you're The Wanders. cute

Your adventures sound awesome! Can't wait to see Leslie's hair! Things are good back here. My cousin and I had a bit of an adventure this weekend in the mountains of NC.
We went hiking up the Green River in Polk County. The trail was beautiful, the colors were perfect, and I took tons of nature pics. The trail was allegedly 4 miles long. We walked 1 mile and there was a random, unlabed fork in the trail - we went left. After 1/2 a mile the trail ended in front of a mini waterfall. This was great because the waterfall was hot kayaker central, so we just sat and watched and chatted up the hot kayakers. We were sure the trail came out on the other side of the river, further up the mountain, so we went back to the fork and took the right side. We hiked another 6 miles, knowing we were lost…and heard an engine. Civilization at last! Wrong again. The engine was coming from backwoods, toothless, ponytail-donning Joe and his John Deere. Joe lives in Henderson County (note: we started in Polk County). Scary Joe turned out to be nice and gave a ride back in the back of his truck, slinging around mountain turns at 60 mph. It was an awesome adventure, but the rest of the family will never let us live it down!

So there you go - a NC story to keep you blogging! Can't wait to hear what happens next Mr. and Mrs. Wander!
